Harnessing microbiology to tackle global challenges

Home

The Centre for Microbial Interactions is a showcase of the work from over 100 microbiology research groups at Norwich Research Park. Our work generates significant discoveries and breakthroughs year-on-year to tackle some of the major challenges facing our planet and the people that live on it.

We encompass a wide range of research themes from antimicrobial resistance and genomics to biotechnology and infection, with applications in the fields of medicine, agriculture, food, energy and climate change. Our work also spans a variety of scales – from interactions within a cell, to those between microorganisms, and those with hosts and environments.

The Centre for Microbial Interactions will drive high-quality research and innovation to address grand challenges, whilst fostering interactions within and beyond Norwich Research Park to build microbiology communities.
