About Us

Microbes in Norwich will soon be rebranded as the Norwich Centre for Microbiology. Our aim is to showcase the work of the >70 microbiology research groups on the Norwich Research Park. We aim to improve links between researchers, funders and policy makers to drive high quality research and innovation.

The Norwich Research Park encompasses scientists and projects at the University of East Anglia, the John Innes Centre, The Sainsbury Laboratory, the Quadram Institute, the Earlham Institute and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, making Norwich the UK’s leading site for microbiology research.

This research is generating important discoveries year on year and has potential applications in the fields of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food processing and environmental monitoring and remediation.
